In the face of catastrophic climate change, cities are both the most sensitive locations where negative impacts will be felt, due to concentration of population and services but also locus of appropriate solutions in both mitigation; via decarbonized built environments, low-carbon mobility and increase use of local renewable resources as well as adaptation; fighting the immediate impacts of climate disasters via better urban planning, taking up of Nature Base Solutions as well as constructing widespread participative organizational capacities.  Climate Volunteers has been actively working together with urban administrations in the preparation of their Sustainable Energy and Climate Adaptation Strategies and Plans, charting roadmaps of feasible pathways and milestones based urban planning especially in those sectors that Municipalities have authority to act. Some of the most important contributions have been in the configuration of Municipal administrations to prepare for mitigation and adaptation, which is one of the most critical capacity increasing topics.
